As an efficient-minded engineer, you naturally want the best wire or cable to carry your data signals.

Calmont Wire and Cable manufactures a specific group of small diameter flexible cables for magnetic head applications. These cables are designed to meet critical conductor resistance, low capacitance, flexibility, flex-life and reduced static discharge values. Increased bit density and smaller physical sizes require smaller and more flexible cable designs.

Calmont's Magnetic Head Cables with ultra-fine conductors are lightweight, chemically resistant, and very flexible. They are used in:

Conductors are made of either copper or high strength alloys. Specific design parameters would dictate the type, size and applicable stranding to use.

Insulations such as Polyethylene, Cellular Polyethylene, FEP TeflonŽ and Silicone Rubber are available to meet specific electrical, mechanical and temperature requirements.

Shields when required, can be applied as a woven braid or as a spiral configuration. Semiconductive Silicon Rubber or Polyvinyl Chloride are also available.

Cable Jackets can be made from Polyvinyl Chloride, Polyurethane, FEP TeflonŽ and Silicone Rubber. To help eliminate static discharge, semiconductive Polyurethane, Polyvinyl Chloride and Silicone Rubber are also available.
